Trade Aid is a UK registered charity which works with and supports Trade Aid Tanzania, a Tanzanian non profit-making Trust.
It is a partnership between the national, regional and local government of Tanzania, the community of Mikindani and Trade Aid.
‘Our intention is to work with the people of Tanzania, not for them.’
Tanzania officially ranks as the world's 7th poorest nation. Poverty is endemic. It is the aim of Trade Aid to manage projects that will help to alleviate this poverty.
Our aim is to alleviate the effects of poverty by encouraging activities that develop sustainable trade. A healthy and ethical trading environment creates employment and wealth for all involved. Employees then spend their income with other traders, creating a circle of growing prosperity and improved living standards.
