‘Our intention is to work with the people of Tanzania, not for them.’

Tanzania officially ranks as the world's seventh poorest nation. Poverty is endemic. It is the aim of Trade Aid to manage projects that will help to alleviate this poverty.

Trade Aid encourages activities that help to develop sustainable trade. A healthy and ethical trading environment creates employment and wealth for all involved. Employees then spend their income with other traders, creating a circle of growing prosperity and improved living standards.

All staff employed by Trade Aid follow structured training programmes. Good, vocational training is a necessity in a modern society.

You can find out more about Trade Aid using the panels on the right. This includes information about Tanzania and the opportunities for volunteering both in Tanzania and UK.

Fundraising

Southern Tanzania is an unspoilt area with outstanding landscapes and unique cultural sites. However, the infrastructure is poor.
