Alternatively you can make cheques payable to ‘Trade Aid’ and send them to our address, which can be found on the contact page.

Visit The Boma Hotel

Or… you could always stay in the luxury of The Old Boma Hotel, knowing that all the profits made from your stay will be put straight back into the community.

The Old Boma HotelContinuing our policy of supporting the local people we try to purchase as much as possible from local sources, for example most of the furniture and decorations in the Boma were made by local craftsmen. Foodstuffs and consumables are all purchased locally. Your money helps us with these careful and considered purchases.

It really could not be easier – a wonderful holiday of a lifetime and knowing that the money you spend is helping to support the local people and bring them prosperity.

Donate Time

For those who can spare the time to help out in Tanzania, there is much work to be done. Volunteers are currently involved in teaching and training and doing research into many different areas such as tourist attractions, and working with local entrepreneurs.

volunteer in Mikindani

The need in developing countries for mature volunteers who have professional qualifications and skills such as Accountancy, Hotel Management and Teaching has never been greater. Since its conception, ten years ago, Trade Aid has involved over a hundred volunteers.

They have initiated and perpetuated a wide variety of projects and have helped many individuals to develop their knowledge and skills in order to achieve a better standard of living for themselves and their families. You can also volunteer - and stay in the UK.

The success of our fundraising events depends upon the support of friends and interested parties. Volunteers are always needed to publicise events, to meet and greet guests, to organise raffles, serve refreshments, sell small gifts or artefacts or help with street collections.

If you feel that you live too far away, you can still help. Do you belong to any Club, school or organisation that may be interested in supporting Trade Aid? Can you organise your own Fundraiser in your village or town? As you know, as a small charity our overheads are minimal, every pound you raise will go to the people for whom it is intended. You may choose to sponsor a particular project and can then receive updates as to how your money is being used and the help it is giving.

We are incredibly privileged to be living in a country which has a Welfare State. In Tanzania, there is no such system. We have an obligation to help those people who want to climb out of poverty and help themselves. The very least we can give is our time.

Support the Fundraising Initiatives

You can help Trade Aid in it's objectives to relieve poverty in Tanzania by supporting the Fundraising Events, both in UK and in Mikindani itself.

This can be done in lots of ways, donation and sponsorships but also by trying to attend the Events, and bringing as many friends as you can.

There are lots of Events planned, to appeal to all age groups and interests. Take a look at our What's On section to see past Events and those coming up and get those dates in your diary. An Event can only be successful if it is well supported.

It is always possible to support from a distance - by donating cash or a Gift for a raffle. These can be big or small, tickets for events or vouchers are easy to send and always very popular prizes.

If you have any other suggestions or ideas for future Fundraising Initiatives contact info@tradeaiduk.org.

‘The success of Trade Aid is down to YOU’.
